
A day after the Transparency Board reduced the price of diesel by 3 lek, today it has decided to increase it by 7 lek, bringing it to 217 lek per liter. While the price of gasoline, which was reduced by three lek yesterday, increased again by three lek today, causing it to be sold in the retail market at 193 lek per liter. The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, the 8th, at 12:00 and will be valid until the next meeting of the board where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.

The Transparency Board and Temporary Limitation of Wholesale/Retail Prices of Oil and Gas By-Products, in support of the Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 711, dated 16.09.2026 “On the Declaration of the Special Situation in the Hydrocarbon Market”, in implementation of Article 21/3 and Article 21/5 of Law 8450, dated 24.2.1999 “On the Processing, Transportation and Trading of Oil, Gas and Their By-Products”, as amended, as well as of Normative Act No. 1, dated 3.4.2026 “On an Amendment to Law No. 61/2012, “On Excise Duties in the Republic of Albania,” as amended, held its second meeting. Thus, the Transparency Board on October 8, 2026, decided:
✅The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard should be no more than 217 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 205 lek/liter.
✅The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 193 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 181 lek/liter.
🗓️The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, the 8th, at 12:00 and will be valid until the next board meeting where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.
⚠️We draw the attention of every operator of wholesale and retail sales of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision.
🚫In case of violations found by various operators, the activity will be suspended.
