Tensions have been reported in front of the Parliament building, where a protest by the opposition and citizens against the Administrative-Territorial Reform is taking place. Among the protesters is the mayor of Memaliaj, Albert Malaj, who was involved in a clash with police officers.
Protesters oppose the proposed changes for the new administrative-territorial division, while police officers have asked them to leave the road and not to obstruct traffic. Also on the Assembly agenda is the draft law on the administrative-territorial division of local government units, which has caused strong opposition from the opposition and representatives of several local units.
