The decision of the special court, which imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on the former director of Elbasan police, Uljan Shpataraku, has been made public.
What stands out in this court decision, obtained by journalist Elton Qyno, is Shpataraku's confession, which surprised the judge in the case and the prosecutors present at the hearing.
According to the arrested Shpataraku, he had no acquaintance with Ergys Agas, but their meeting on the day of the arrest was in random circumstances on the street.
He claimed in the hearing that he met Agas by chance on the old road of Elbasan, whom he picked up in his car after hitchhiking, and that according to Shpataraku, when he got into the car, the person introduced himself to him as "Berti".
".. .I was returning from the old road to Elbasan. During the journey, a person signaled to me with his hand and I took him into the car. This person told me his name was 'Berti' and that he worked with duralumin. Near Plepave, in Durrës, the police stopped us. There I learned that the person I had taken into the car was Ergys Agasi. .." - the former director of Elbasan police, Shpataraku, testified in court.
According to his version that he gave in court, but which was certainly not believed by the judge in the case, he had no acquaintance with Agassi.
Further in his testimony he stated the following:
". ..I don't know Ergys Agas. I was traveling by car towards Elbasan and a person raised his hand to me for a hitchhiking. I accepted, as I am a believer and I am not afraid of people who have problems on the road.. .".
But despite this testimony, he has not escaped the security measure "Arrest in prison" imposed by the Special Court on the charge of "Supporting the perpetrator of the crime".
Meanwhile, to refute this version given by Shpataraku, SPAK has ordered a computer examination of his two "Iphone" phones seized during the action at the end of August 2026 in Durrës, where the former police officer was arrested in the same car with Ergys Agadi.
It is learned that the two phones were encrypted. Meanwhile, SPAK has also focused on the conversations that Shpataraku and Ergys Agasi had on "Signal".
According to sources, at the exit of the Bradashesh area, Shpararaku noticed a drone in the air that was following them and at this moment told Ergys Agas to drive quickly in order to avoid being chased.
But Agassi guaranteed that there was no risk after talking to him and saying that everything was fine.
