The government grants a special pension to a 117-year-old Albanian woman

Qamile Metan Marra, the 117-year-old Albanian woman who has become known as one of the oldest women in the world, will benefit from a special state pension.

The decision was made by the Council of Ministers, following the great attention its story received in Albania and abroad.

The 117-year-old's story quickly attracted attention on social media and in foreign media, while one of the elements that was commented on was her way of eating. Mother Qamile has revealed that simple foods, including cabbage, beans and dairy products, have been present in her diet over the years.

She has worked for about 35 years in the agricultural cooperative and until now received a pension of about 7,700 lek.

After her story was published, the matter reached the Council of Ministers, which decided to grant her a special state pension supplement.

Blendi Kajsiu: Prime Minister's misunderstanding on anti-corruption

The fact that no institution of our public administration noticed that millions of euros were invested in phantom incinerators, that AKSHI was controlled by an ordinary criminal, that the directors of the Municipality of Tirana awarded tenders to themselves, or that the police director and the director of SHISH worked for Gysi, shows that we do not have a public administration and a state.
