Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that he had a one-hour telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the discussions focused on the price of natural gas, bilateral cooperation and the international situation.
"I just finished a long, hour-long conversation with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin," Vučić said.
According to him, the two leaders mainly discussed the price of gas, an issue of particular importance for Serbia in this period, as well as cooperation between Serbia and the Russian Federation, bilateral relations, the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Balkans.
"We talked about energy issues," said the Serbian president.
Vučić stressed that the offer of 318 euros per 1,000 cubic meters of gas is very favorable for Serbia.
"This shows that Serbia has a good price, good flexibility and sufficient gas quantities. We also discussed the Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS), where the situation is more complicated, but we still exchanged views on this issue as well," he said.
In conclusion, Vučić described the conversation as important for the future of Serbia.
"I believe it was an important conversation for the future of Serbia and I am convinced that those who will be presidents of Serbia in the future will also know how to protect the country's interests and maintain this kind of balance and responsibility towards all important actors in international politics," he concluded.
