The Albanian national team has concluded preparations for the next Nations League challenge, but on the eve of the match with San Marino there have been new moves in the Rossoneri squad. Alen Sherri remains out due to a muscular problem, while Feta Fetai returns to the A team after problems with documentation.
The fight doesn't work out, Taho is called up by the U-21
Albania held its final training session at the “Air Albania” stadium, where they will face San Marino in the fourth match of the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday. Coach Rolando Maran used this session mainly to consolidate tactical aspects and to give the final shape to the team that will take to the field. For about an hour, the group trained normally, with the exception of Ardian Ismajli, who followed a differentiated program.
There is no serious concern for the defender. The accumulated workload after the last three matches has caused the technical and medical staff to be cautious, but Ismajli is expected to be available to Marani for the challenge with San Marino.
The forced change comes in goal. Alen Sherri, who suffered muscle discomfort during the transfer to Finland, underwent medical checks. The examinations have confirmed that the goalkeeper is not in optimal condition to play and therefore will not be part of the match. In his place, Maran has called up Alain Tahon. The goalkeeper of the U-21 National Team will join the first team and will be placed under the orders of the Italian coach.
Fetai returns to the National Team A
Another move on the list concerns Feta Fetai. The midfielder was unable to join the U-21 national team for the friendly against Ukraine due to issues related to his residency documentation.
Fetai has exceeded the 90-day limit of stay in the Schengen area within a calendar year and is currently in the process of obtaining a residence permit in the European Union, in cooperation with his club. Under these conditions, he has returned to the A National Team and could be another alternative for Marani in the match against San Marino.
Focus on victory
With preparations now complete, Albania has turned all attention to the next match. The latest changes not only affect the roster, but also give the technical staff another situation to manage at a time when every detail can matter.
Maran must make the final choices for the formation, while the challenge with San Marino requires from the Rossoneri not only a result, but also continuity in performance after the last matches. The ball is now in the field. For Albania, the preparations are complete and everything is ready for another battle in the Nations League.
