The Assembly is expected to have a busy day today both inside and outside the chamber. As MPs gather for a plenary session, with two ministers summoned for interpellation and several draft laws on the agenda, citizens in front of the Parliament have warned of the return of the protest against the government.
In the hall, attention will be on the two interpellations requested by the opposition. The Minister of Environment, Sofjan Jaupaj, will be asked about the 102 containers with about 2,816 tons of waste classified as hazardous and toxic, located on the outskirts of Durrës. In the second interpellation, the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, will provide explanations about the situation in kindergartens and nurseries. The opposition raises concerns about the overload of capacities, which according to it reaches up to 70 children, as well as about the development of two-shift teaching in the schools of Saranda.
While parliamentary debates are taking place inside, calls against the government are expected to be heard again outside. In the protest the night before, citizens demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the annulment of laws they oppose.
