Three police operations have been finalized over the last 24 hours in Kukës and Tropoja, leading to the arrest of three people suspected of illegal possession of weapons, cultivation of narcotic plants and burglary.
In Tropoja, within the framework of the “Befasia” operation, the services of the Tropoja Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the structures of the Kukës Local Police Directorate, arrested 45-year-old EM, resident of Markaj. During the search of his apartment, in implementation of a court decision, the Police found and seized an automatic firearm and combat ammunition. Also in Tropoja, within the framework of the “Weekend” operation, 38-year-old SH was arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of cultivating narcotic plants and carrying weapons without a permit.
According to the Police, based on information obtained during the operation, the services conducted a search in a wooded area in the territory of the Administrative Unit of Tropoja e Vjetër. During the search, the 38-year-old was found about 50 meters away from a plot where 42 cannabis plants were cultivated, which the investigators suspect were cultivated by him. During the physical search, a pistol with a comb and 9 cartridges were found on him, while a shotgun, ammunition and a knife were seized in the apartment.
Meanwhile, in Kukës, the Police Commissariat services, in cooperation with the structures of Durrës, finalized the "Shadow" operation, arresting 31-year-old IJ, resident of Krumë i Hasit. According to the investigations, in the early morning hours of September 26, 2026, the 31-year-old is suspected of having broken into a vehicle, as well as having broken into and robbed a bar. The stolen vehicle, a cell phone taken from the bar and a knife were seized as material evidence.
The police inform that they are continuing their work to uncover and document several other thefts, which are suspected to have been committed by the same person in the areas of Has and Durrës. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Kukës for further action.
