The Fier court has remanded former Cadastral Directors Ertis Shehu and Bardhyl Kapaj in custody as part of an investigation into a suspected property alienation scheme in the Seman area. Meanwhile, for businessman Kastriot Hasko, the court has reduced the security measure from “prison arrest” to “house arrest”. He has been ordered not to leave his apartment and not to contact anyone other than his family. According to the Prosecution, Hasko is suspected of using two forged decisions of the Property Restitution and Compensation Commission to register land in co-ownership with four other people.
The properties were then allegedly sold to two commercial companies. As part of the investigation, 76 properties with a total area of 1,143 hectares were seized, as well as 150 thousand euros. The court has also upheld the “prison arrest” measure for other persons under investigation in this case. The decision can be appealed within five days at the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana.
