Ervin Salianji has declared that he will take institutional steps to run for the leadership of the Democratic Party, emphasizing that this time he will follow the process to the end, including through the courts.
In an interview on the "Prime News24" show on News24, Salianji said that in the previous attempt he had withdrawn to avoid accusations that he was obstructing the party, while now he intends to seek his rights through the institutions.
Salianji emphasized that his candidacy for DP chairman remains a clear goal and that he demands that the process be conducted under competitive conditions.
He also addressed Sali Berisha and other opposition figures, requesting a clear position on the role he should have in the Democratic Party until the local elections.
During the interview, he also raised questions about the opposition's stance on issues related to the construction of towers in Tirana. Salianji mentioned the tower near the Palace of Congresses, comparing it to the issue of the tower in the Taiwan area.
According to him, the lack of response to these issues raises questions about the responsibility of political actors.
"I will make an effort, because this time I did not do it so that they would not say he is being held hostage. This time I will address the institutions and I will also enter the race with the court as I did not do. I will be available, I will be in the race for the DP and this time I will be with all the institutions until the end. I have paused and I am saying it, to Sali Berisha and every other opposition factor.
In the race for party leader. I'm saying if until the local elections I avoid this whole narrative that you tell me, Berisha tells me what I should do? I have taken a specific area and I win it. But I have my doubts and I have said there is talk about the tower in Taiwan, but why doesn't Sali Berisha talk about the tower at the Palace of Congresses. This is co-theft, both parties are responsible for not speaking out", - he said. /BW
