German MEP Terry Reintke has criticized the silence of European institutions in the face of protests that have been taking place for more than 130 days in Albania.
She called it unacceptable that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen visited the country without addressing this issue.
In her response, Reintke, part of the "Greens" group, emphasizes that millions of people outside the European Union are fighting for European values, against corruption and for a better future.
According to her, Albania is an example of this effort and the EU cannot remain silent in the face of citizens who risk everything to protect these values.
"Silence is not an option. The EU must expand, but it must also defend true European values wherever people risk everything to defend them," Reintke wrote in her post. /LAPSI.al
