For now, it is only the events on the pitch that speak, with their dynamics, results and, of course, the inevitable jeers of the fans. Manchester City is back in action at Anfield after the decision that found them guilty of violating Premier League rules, a long and delicate process, the end of which is still not in sight. Naturally, the atmosphere in Liverpool was tense: the stadium was filled with banners and placards about the financial scandal, references to the music of the group Oasis, of course reworked in the light of accusations of fraud, accusations of all kinds and more or less amusing caricatures, which actually had little impact on the players.
City won 3-0, breaking the resistance of Iraola's team in the last half of the second half, which had tried to stay in the game despite numerous absences. Among the protagonists was Donnarumma, the author of at least two important saves at the beginning of the second half. In the end, he became the player on whom the fans' anger was poured. The goalkeeper was stopped while returning to the tunnel of the changing rooms and was directly confronted by several fans, who repeated once again that he was a "fraud". An accusation that, of course, was related to the financial issues of his club.

Donnarumma clashed with Liverpool fans
The incident took place after the end of the match, with the Anfield stadium in a state of disarray after a 3-0 defeat that has left fans worried about the team's form at the start of the season. After six weeks, Liverpool are ninth in the table. The atmosphere was tense and there was no shortage of insults towards the Citizens, linked to the process that has found 114 breaches of Premier League rules and which can lead to a very serious punishment, from points deduction to expulsion from the championship. Donnarumma was personally affected by this situation, when he was called a cheat by the stands.
The goalkeeper was returning to the dressing room after the referee's final whistle when he was showered with insults from the opposing fans sitting near the tunnel. They shouted all sorts of words at him, most notably "cheat", and at one point the Italian could no longer contain himself and turned to confront them. He exchanged words with some of them from a distance before City staff, who were there to monitor the situation, removed him. The insults continued for a few more seconds before Donnarumma entered the dressing room, clearly irritated by the provocations, which are sure to be repeated in Manchester City's away games for the rest of the season.
