Three people were injured this Sunday morning in western Thessaloniki when a car crashed into a tavern in the Evosmos area. Security cameras captured the moment the vehicle crashed into tables and chairs that were full of people. Three customers were injured, while the restaurant suffered material damage.
Police arrested the 45-year-old Albanian driver of the car after a breathalyzer test revealed that he was drunk and had consumed alcohol well above the maximum permitted limit. The information shows that the two measurements he underwent showed 0.77mg/l and 0.74mg/l, when the limit is 0.25mg/l.
Security camera footage shows the moment the vehicle crashes into the store's tables and chairs. Panic reigns as the driver reverses as if nothing had happened.
"If there weren't flower vases, we would have funerals," the store owner said, among other things. "I feel lucky," said a female customer of the tavern, who was in the store at the time and was injured. According to her, the driver of the car was coming at high speed and also emphasized that the fence stopped the vehicle. The woman was hit in the ribs and head.
"The car drove in without braking," said another store customer, who even reported that the driver turned around and tried to leave the scene. ©LAPSI.al
