The fire near the village of Halilaj in Kruja continues to be active, despite the intervention carried out yesterday with firefighting equipment and a fire truck.
The flames have engulfed the waste in the landfill, while the burning continues to cause thick clouds of smoke, which according to residents are accompanied by a strong wind and pose a concern for the surrounding community. According to preliminary information, this is not the first time that the landfill has been set on fire. Within a period of two months, the fire has been repeated several times in the same area. The causes of the fire are expected to be determined after verifications, while the preliminary suspicion is that the flames may have been set intentionally.
The situation remains problematic for the residents of the Halilaj village neighborhood, who are demanding immediate intervention to completely extinguish the fire and eliminate the fires that continue to be active.
