A new investigation opened by SPAK prosecutor Olsi Dado appears to have placed Artan Gaçi, the husband of former Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka, under criminal prosecution for "Laundering of proceeds of crime."
But in addition to Agaç, the SPAK special prosecution is also conducting investigative verifications against his wife, SP MP Olta Xhaçka, as it is suspected that there is data and indications that the senior official was also implicated in this activity.
The case in question was registered after the release of investigative evidence from another investigation, revealing a series of bank transactions and several telephone communications.
We recall that 1 year ago, an investigation was launched against Artan Gaçi by prosecutor Olsi Dado, which was set in motion after a report made by Fredi Beleri, regarding the alienation of properties in the South Coast area.
But this investigation was later dismissed by the Special Prosecution Office and then left in force by the country's courts. Meanwhile, this is now a new investigation, which has uncovered new evidence, and therefore prosecutor Olsi Dado has registered the file for the charge of "Laundering of proceeds of crime".
Given this situation, this afternoon Artan Gaçi was invited to SPAK to be questioned as a person under investigation, and his presence was requested in the company of a defense lawyer.
Journalist Elton Qyno has learned that during the time he was in SPAK, Artan Gaçi did not provide explanations, as he had previously requested to be familiar with the investigative acts and the official accusation for which he was placed under investigation and summoned to the prosecutor's office to testify.
Unable to familiarize himself with the investigative acts, the BKH officer asked Artan Gaçi and his lawyer to submit a written request, with the aim of making available the investigative acts administered by SPAK against him.
As a result, Agaç has been released and, after being familiarized with the investigative acts, he will be invited again to provide explanations to the SPAK Special Prosecution Office./Syri.net
