Several citizens have thrown stones at the Kosovo Government building in the center of Pristina following the decision of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague for the leaders of the KLA. After hitting and damaging the building, one of the protesters has been arrested.
A similar protest was previously held in front of the EULEX headquarters, in the industrial area, when stones were thrown at the EU Rule of Law Mission building.
They then moved to the front of the Parliament building.
The protests come after the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague announced the first-instance verdict against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi.
All four were found guilty of a range of war crimes and sentenced to a total of 81 years in prison. Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi was sentenced to 25 years in prison, while Kadri Veseli was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Rexhep Selimi was sentenced to 13 years in prison, while Jakup Krasniqi was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
