Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha was questioned in Fier about the Territorial Reform. He accused the Socialist MPs of bargaining with each other all day and in the end they all voted for it.
Question: Mr. Berisha, the territorial reform is highly contested by both you and the residents of the municipalities that were merged, and was ultimately approved. If the opposition comes to power, will it take steps to overturn this?
Sali Berisha: Absolutely. It will be one of the first acts. We will restore local government in all areas and all communities that meet the minimum criteria. Without a doubt. And this will be one of the pillars of the policy for the repopulation of Albania. We will do everything to repopulate this country. What this government is doing is a policy of depopulation.
Question: What do you think of Braca's tears?
Sali Berisha: I am not speaking about it, because they are human misery. Because a person does not surrender himself if he really thinks it is bad, he never agrees with this. Yesterday they showed themselves without character. They have been bargaining with each other all day and in the end they went and voted with 85 votes an act that will remain the most shameful story in the history of the parliament.
Question: Mr. Berisha, can a political force be reformed with a new spirit, with new figures, with the same leader?
Sali Berisha: Without a doubt. The shortest, safest path is what you say.
Question: Will the DP come to power with Berisha as prime minister?
Sali Berisha: The DP, with the renewal it has undertaken and will undertake, will come to power to renew Albania. The DP has an iron will to renew Albania. /LAPSI.al
