Heavy rain accompanied by electrical discharges has caused defects in the electricity supply lines, leaving residents of more than 30 villages in Fier, Patos and Mallakastër without electricity. Defects as a result of bad weather have also been caused in rural areas of Lushnja.
Sources from the OSHEE Branch in Fier said that the defects were caused as a result of electrical discharges since Thursday evening when power was initially cut off in the villages of Levan. This morning, with the worsening weather, defects also occurred in other areas. Only in the Municipalities of Fier, Patos and Mallakastër, eight feeders are out of operation. Due to the particularly frequent electrical discharges that are accompanying the rainfall, work has not yet started to repair the defects. Problems have also appeared on several road axes within cities and on interurban roads after the toll collectors blocked the roads, but so far there have been no reports of road traffic blockages.
The feeders that are out of service due to bad weather are:
1- coastal areas in Libofshë
2- 1 feeder in Seman
3- 1 feeder in Patos
4- 1 feeder in Kraps
5- 20 kilovolt feeder in Kafaraj
6- Qarr-Bishan area
7- 1 feeder in Ballsh
8- 1 feeder in Aranitas
On average, one feeder distributes energy to three to four villages, while in urban areas, several neighborhoods.
