
An explosion at a refinery in Greece has resulted in the death of an Albanian worker, while another was seriously injured.
Greek media reports that the victim is 43-year-old Robert Cakaj, who died despite doctors' efforts to save him. Meanwhile, 50-year-old Dorian Hysa continues to be treated in critical condition, intubated, after suffering serious head injuries.
According to preliminary information, the two workers were part of an external contractor team and were performing maintenance work on the refinery premises when the incident occurred.
Initially, the two seriously injured workers were transported to the Corinth hospital. A third person also arrived at this hospital, who had very mild respiratory problems.
The two most seriously injured were then taken to Thriasio Hospital, where one of them, Robert Cakaj, lost his life. The condition of his colleague, Dorian Hysa, remains critical.

After the serious incident, the company also reacted, expressing condolences for the loss of the worker's life and solidarity with his family.
"Emergency announcement regarding the incident that occurred today at the Motor Oil premises in Agioi Theodoroit. It is with deep sadness that we were informed that one of the two employees of the cooperating contracting company who were seriously injured in today's accident, died despite all the efforts of the doctors.
The health condition of the second worker remains critical. The management and all employees of the company express our sincere condolences and our commitment to stand by the victim's family.
"The competent authorities are investigating the causes of the accident and the company is fully cooperating with them," the refinery said in a statement.
