Talks between the Ukrainian delegation and Donald Trump's representatives in Miami have been suspended after the announcement of an oil deal between Washington and Moscow. According to the Financial Times, the meeting was aimed at finding ways to persuade Russia to end the war. However, the Ukrainian delegation decided to return to Kiev and canceled the second round of talks. During the meeting, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner reportedly warned Ukraine that the US could cut off intelligence sharing if Kiev continued its attacks on Russian refineries.
Despite the warning, a Ukrainian official said that “the attacks will continue.” Hours later, Russian authorities reported another attack on an oil terminal. Meanwhile, the death toll from the Russian attack in Zaporizhzhia has risen to 17. Rescuers pulled a woman alive after she had been trapped under the rubble for more than eight hours.
EU High Representative Kaja Kallas criticized the easing of sanctions on Russian fuel, warning that it would provide Moscow with more revenue for its war. According to her, Russian attacks have killed more than 80 Ukrainian civilians in two days. Kallas said the EU would not reduce pressure on Russia and that foreign ministers aimed to adopt a broad package of new sanctions on Monday.
