Bayern Munich drew 2-2 at home to Augsburg on Saturday after conceding the fastest goal in Bundesliga history, courtesy of a blunder by Manuel Neuer. Robin Fellhauer scored after just eight seconds when the goalkeeper's attempt to pass the ball over him ended with the ball bouncing off the Augsburg player and bouncing back into the net.
A day to forget for Neuer in the Bayern Munich shirt. A foot error in the match at Augsburg, which ended 2-2, allowed Fellhauer to score the fastest goal in Bundesliga history, after just 8.5 seconds. The home team's second goal, scored by Rodrigo Ribeiro, also came after a short punch by the 40-year-old goalkeeper, just a few steps from the goal.
Ismael Saibari equalised early in the second half, but Rodrigo Ribeiro, after another questionable decision by Neuer, quickly put Augsburg back in front. Bayern had three goals disallowed for offside before Nathaniel Brown scored his first league goal for the visitors to secure a point.
The champions looked rusty in their first match after the long international break and missed out on a chance to take the top spot. The day before, leaders Borussia Dortmund had drawn 2-2 at home to Werder Bremen. Third-placed Freiburg need a win over Schalke 04 on Sunday to leapfrog the top two teams and climb to first place.
Bayer Leverkusen climbed to fourth place after a spectacular 4-3 away win over Mainz. Union Berlin recorded their first league win of the season, beating newly promoted Elversberg 1-0. Meanwhile, VfB Stuttgart won 2-0 against Paderborn, another newcomer to the division, thanks to goals from Jeff Chabot and Chris Führich. SV Hamburg managed to beat Hoffenheim 3-2 away, taking advantage of the fact that their opponents were playing with ten men.
