Democratic Party MPs appeared in Parliament this Thursday with the KLA emblem on their clothing, as a sign of solidarity after the decision of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague the day before against four former KLA leaders.
But the KLA symbolism was not the only element that accompanied the opposition's entry into the session. Democratic MPs posted photographs of Belinda Balluku and businessman Ron Yeffet, who had been photographed together earlier after a lunch in Tirana, on the main door of Parliament.
The action was related to recently published audio recordings, where accusations of arms trafficking and the involvement of the state-owned company 'KAYO' were raised. Shortly after the photos were posted, the Assembly's cleaning staff removed them and tore them from the entrance to the Parliament. Today's session takes place amidst a charged political climate, with several interpellations requested by the opposition and a protest announced outside the Assembly.
