The socialist majority has rejected the DP's request to establish an Investigative Commission on the activities of the state-owned company "KAYO". The opposition's request was discussed at the Conference of Speakers, following allegations raised by the DP regarding the company's activities, and this after the publication of audio recordings by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj. The Chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, stated at the Conference of Speakers that the KAYO company has spent around 34 million euros from the state budget and demanded transparency on the use of these funds, contracts and the company's activities.
"34 million euros have been spent. You also told us about the incinerators, but it turned out that the money was burned in the square. We have been requesting information from the Ministry of Defense for so long. No information is provided. The minister refuses and for this I have addressed the Speaker of the Parliament. What should we do, enter the ministry and get the documentation? For this reason, an investigative commission is needed, because it is subject to the Criminal Code if information is not provided. We are not asking for anything else, except to learn and recognize the contracts concluded between a state-owned company and a private company. How did KAYO find the individual Ron Yefet? What is this man's CV, besides the fact that he is a friend of Edi Rama? How does this man benefit from 34 million euros in just 6 months? We are open to the object of the investigation. Tell us what you want us to fix. The establishment of an investigative commission does not need your permission, the Constitution gives us this. We can only discuss the object of the investigation", said Bardhi.
