The Assembly convenes in plenary session today, with a busy agenda that includes several interpellations with ministers and the voting on a number of draft laws. The session begins with the approval of the September 8 minutes and announcements, while attention then shifts to the interpellations requested by the Democratic Party deputies.
The Minister of Environment, Sofjan Jaupaj, the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, and the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Klodiana Spahiu, are expected to appear in the hall. Another interpellation has been requested with the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi. One of the most controversial items on the agenda is expected to be the draft law on changes in the status of judges and prosecutors. The initiative comes at a time when the issue of magistrates' salaries has created clashes between the government and the judiciary.
MEPs will also consider the convention establishing the International Claims Commission for Ukraine, as well as the Council of Europe Convention on Artificial Intelligence, human rights, democracy and the rule of law. Also on the agenda are amendments related to the olive sector, designs and the control of publicly traded companies.
