On the same day that the head of the State Intelligence Service, Vlora Hyseni, was placed under "house arrest" and when searches were conducted at the home of the former head of the State Police, Ilir Proda, the US embassy in Tirana published a message about Albanian-American cooperation in the fight against organized crime.
The Embassy's post was related to the 42nd Session of the Continuing Training of the European Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA), which is taking place in Tirana from September 19 to 23. From the first day of the activity, the absence of Vlora Hyseni was noticeable, while the Director of Police, Skënder Hita, the Prosecutor General Olsi Çela, the head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, etc. were invited there.
"When the United States and Albania stand together, our communities are safer," begins the US embassy's message, continuing that the FBINAA brings together senior leaders of law enforcement structures, trained at the FBI National Academy, to exchange expertise and strengthen cooperation against organized crime.
This Tuesday, SPAK announced two charges against the head of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, while the GJKKO ordered “house arrest” and suspension from duty. According to published data on the investigation, she is suspected of “Supporting the perpetrator of the crime” and “Disclosure of secret acts or data”, in a faction of the investigation of the AKSHI file.
On the same day, investigators also searched the home of the former Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, to find evidence that could serve the same investigation.
After welcoming the conference that took place in Tirana, the American embassy concludes its message with the words:
"Our goal is clear: stronger law enforcement, greater security, and safer communities in the United States and Albania."
