A fire was registered this afternoon in the village of Karicë, in the Baz Administrative Unit, in the Municipality of Mat. According to preliminary information, the fire is suspected to have started initially in a meadow and, favored by the wind, spread to a forest massif with oak trees.
Firefighters are at the scene and are working to isolate the fire to prevent it from spreading to homes. The difficult terrain has made it even more difficult for firefighters to intervene, while the Police have launched an investigation to find the perpetrator, as it is suspected that the fire may have been started intentionally.
