The Special Prosecution Office has launched an investigation into the issue of judges' and prosecutors' salaries. As part of the investigation, SPAK has seized relevant documentation from the Ministry of Finance.
The investigation follows a criminal complaint filed by judges for the non-execution of salaries for the month of August. The complaint requests that the prosecution clarify the circumstances of the decision-making and determine the persons who gave, followed up or implemented the orders that led to the non-payment of salaries, while among the persons reported is the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj.
According to the complaint, the issue is not related to one case, but affects a significant number of judges and prosecutors across the country. The investigation aims to determine whether there is individual responsibility for the actions or inactions that have led to the delay in the salaries of magistrates.
