Two people in Korça are being prosecuted for selling suspected smuggled

Two people in Korça have been criminally prosecuted for selling silver jewelry in the city without issuing tax invoices.

Edvald Mesiti and Spartak Pëllumbi, residents of Tirana, were arrested by police in the city of Korça, on the "Shën Gjergji" promenade. According to information, silver jewelry weighing a total of 27 kilograms was seized from the two people. Meanwhile, the police are working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

The police operation codenamed "Silver" is being finalized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section.     

 They were selling smuggled silver jewelry in the city of Korça, 2 citizens are being prosecuted. Various silver jewelry, with a total weight of 27 kilograms, were seized. The Specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, as a result of the investigation carried out with proactive methods, organized and finalized the operation coded “Silver”, within the framework of which citizens EM, 45 years old and SP, 65 years old, both residents of Tirana, were prosecuted. These citizens were caught by the Police services, on the “Shen Gjergji” promenade, in the city of Korça, selling silver jewelry, without issuing tax invoices.

 Silver jewelry (weighing 27 kg) was seized as material evidence, without any accompanying documents. The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action, for the criminal offenses "Smuggling of other goods", "Trading and transporting contraband goods", "Hiding income" and "Failure to issue a tax coupon, receipt or tax invoice".
