A routine police check in Kalbe, Germany, has led to the discovery of a large cannabis plantation set up inside an uninhabited building. Two Albanian citizens, aged 32 and 56, have been arrested. The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 2, when officers patrolling the area noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from a building on Breiten Weg. Suspicion prompted officers to search the building, where they discovered around 800 cannabis plants in various stages of growth.
The two Albanians were on the premises of the facility and were immediately detained by the authorities. The suspects appeared in court on October 3, following a request from the Stendal Prosecutor's Office. The court ordered the two to be remanded in custody, who were then sent to prison. German authorities have not yet released any further details on the organization of the plantation or the specific role of the two arrested. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
