Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has made strong statements regarding the issue of MP Belinda Balluku's immunity, claiming that decision-making regarding her is no longer related only to the legal aspect, but also to political interests.
Invited to 'Çim Peka LIVE' on SYRI TV, Ahmetaj said that, according to him, the majority does not have the courage to vote to lift Balluk's immunity without a political decision by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
'These people don't have the courage to provoke the head of the organization to vote there, together with the entire parliamentary group, to lift the immunity of the looter,' declared Ahmetaj.
According to the former deputy prime minister, the request to lift immunity will be used at a moment that is politically convenient for Rama.
'They will bring this when the head of the organization says: I need that vote now, because I want to sell it to Marta Kos in the commission. I want to buy time. I want to tell the protest: 'Here, you asked me for this, I did it,'' said Ahmetaj.
