The Government of Kosovo has sent the Assembly its response regarding the initiative of the Democratic Party of Kosovo to amend and supplement the Law on Specialized Chambers and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office.
The decision was made on Friday, at an electronic meeting of the Government.
According to the Government's announcement, the response to the Assembly's request includes three main assessments: the legal opinion on the initiative's compatibility with the European Union acquis, the assessment of the budgetary impact, and the legal opinion regarding the content of the draft law.
"The Government of the Republic of Kosovo has held an electronic meeting, in which it has approved the decision responding to the request of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo with no. Prot. 1108 dated 23.09.2026, for the Legislative Initiative for 'Draft Law No. 11/L-001 on amending and supplementing Law No. 05/L-053 on Specialized Chambers and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office'", the announcement states.
The vote on this law, long-requested by the PDK, is expected to pave the way for the election of the country's President. /LAPSI.al
