Russia has hit Kiev's Northern Bridge with a drone, in an attack that caused damage and injured two people.
According to "The Guardian", this is the fourth consecutive day that Russian forces have struck key bridges over the Dnieper River, causing traffic restrictions and chaos in the Ukrainian capital.
The attack came shortly after German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kiev on an unannounced visit, which he described as a message of support for Ukraine at a crucial period in the war. Merz met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and declared that Ukraine could count on German support.
According to British media, Russian attacks on Kiev have intensified in recent weeks, hitting bridges, energy facilities and other infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities warn that the campaign of strikes could further complicate life for residents of the capital during the winter.
Germany has become one of Ukraine's main military supporters since Merz took office in May 2025. During his visit to Kiev, the German chancellor reiterated that Ukraine needs Europe's support and warned that, if Russia is not stopped, its threat could spread further into Europe. /LAPSI.al
