
A tanker carrying crude oil has been attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, the second reported incident involving a ship in as many hours.
According to UKMTO, the British maritime security information service, the ship's captain reported that the tanker was "hit" by an unidentified projectile.
The ship was located about 4 nautical miles east of Oman at the time of the incident.
All crew members are safe, while it is not yet known the extent of damage caused to the ship or whether the attack had any environmental impact.
This is the second attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz in a matter of hours.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important oil transportation routes in the world. Before the outbreak of the war, about 20% of global oil passed through this maritime corridor.
