CNN has been dropped for the second time in a week from the media group covering US President Donald Trump's activities, in a new escalation of the clash between the network and the White House. The television network was originally scheduled to cover Trump's activities during his trip to Texas and Oklahoma, but the White House suddenly removed it from the list of assignments.
According to foreign media reports, instead of CNN, only Real America's Voice remained in the group, while other major television networks did not replace CNN. The clash comes after CNN was previously banned from covering activities on Air Force One. A federal judge had overturned a White House decision two days earlier that restricted access for CNN and two other media organizations.
Meanwhile, the five major television networks that participate in the press group have continued to cover presidential activities. Earlier this week, lawyers for CNN, MS Now and Politico asked for an extension of the court order that overturned access restrictions imposed by the White House.
