Greek authorities are analyzing a video that captured the moments of the murder of a 45-year-old Albanian woman in the “Nea Smyrni” neighborhood of Athens. Julieta Obzova was being waited for outside her apartment by 48-year-old Altin Allmuça outside the apartment building where she lived.
According to information from the Greek newspaper Protothema, the footage shows the perpetrator waiting for the 45-year-old woman outside her home. As soon as the woman opened the front door, he entered the building with her.
What followed unfolded in a matter of seconds. Within about 3-5 seconds, the 48-year-old allegedly kicked the 45-year-old once or twice, causing her to fall to her knees on the ground. He then pointed the gun at her.
The 45-year-old woman, seeing the gun, instinctively reacted and raised her hands towards it in an attempt to protect herself. Her movement appears to have caused the 48-year-old to miss the first shot. Shortly after, according to the video being reviewed by authorities, the perpetrator dragged her by the hands about 1 meter away and shot her again, this time in the head, causing the woman to take her last breath.
After killing the 45-year-old, the 48-year-old turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. The weapon he used, according to information, was in illegal possession.
"I broke up because he was jealous of me"
According to reports, the 45-year-old had told her sister about her relationship with a man, telling her that she had decided to break up with him because of his jealousy. She also allegedly told her that he was still persistent and that she was afraid.
On the night of the murder, the woman was alone at home. Her daughter was not in Athens, having gone to Agrinio with her uncle.
The 1000 euros he left to his wife
Meanwhile, information has also come to light about the 48-year-old's movements before arriving in the "Nea Smyrni" neighborhood. Before leaving home, he left his wife 1,000 euros and told her to "keep the money."
His wife told police she had noticed a change in his behavior over the past 18 months. She said the 48-year-old was often away from home and some nights he would sleep somewhere else, without her knowing where he was or if he was having an affair with another woman. She also told police she was afraid of him.
Findings in the 48-year-old's house in Tavros
Meanwhile, electronic devices, documents and any other findings that could help the authorities' investigation are at the disposal of the police after a search they conducted at the 48-year-old's home in the "Tavros" neighborhood. Authorities estimate that the findings contain evidence regarding the preparation of the attack, the 48-year-old's recent communications with the 45-year-old. The mobile phones and online activities of the two individuals are important, as they could help reconstruct the 48-year-old's last movements before he committed the crime.
Authorities have also put the 48-year-old's social media accounts under the microscope. The perpetrator had posted photos in which he posed holding a gun, with police examining whether the revolver used in the crime is identical to any of those seen in the photos. ©LAPSI.al
