
The Ministry of Defense has published an update on the fire situation in the country, noting that as of 20:00 the situation appears to have improved and there is no danger to residential areas. It is learned that, out of 26 fires reported during the day, 14 have been completely extinguished, 6 are under surveillance and 6 others remain active.
311 operational forces and 16 firefighting vehicles have been deployed to deal with the situation, while the Armed Forces have supported the intervention with 70 personnel, 3 helicopters, a firefighting vehicle and a heavy excavator.
In the Puka area, the situation has improved significantly, with the fire extinguished in Gjegjan and Gojan, while the fire in Prozhëm is nearing extinction. In Fushë-Arrëz and on Mount Dajti, work continues in difficult terrain to isolate the fires, while active fires remain in Ballenjë and Qafën e Helmës in Dibër, as well as on Mount Luzat in Tepelena.
The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) confirms that the structures remain on full alert with the priority of protecting the lives and property of citizens, while several fires in Lezha, Elbasan and Vlora have been extinguished.

"The Ministry of Defense informs that today, as of 8:00 PM, the fire situation appears to have improved and poses no risk to residential areas. 26 fires have been reported, of which 6 remain active, 6 are under surveillance and 14 have been extinguished. 311 operational forces and 16 firefighting vehicles were engaged in the day's operations, while the Armed Forces supported the operations with 70 personnel, 1 firefighting vehicle, 1 heavy excavator and 3 helicopters.
In Puka, the situation in the Tërbun–Gojan–Gjegjan area has improved significantly. The fire has been completely extinguished in Gjegjan, Gojan të Vogël and Gojan të Madh, while the fire in Prozhëm continues at a very low intensity and is on the verge of being extinguished. Forces from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry Service, local structures, volunteers and 40 members of the Armed Forces have been engaged in the operation, with ground and air support.
In Gojdan, Fushë-Arrëz, work continues to isolate and extinguish a fire in a forest area, with the involvement of local structures, the Ministry of Forestry, the Police, volunteers and 1 AF helicopter. There is no risk to homes.
In Dajt, the fires remain active in difficult terrain, but without danger to residential areas. During the day, 30 members of the Armed Forces and 30 firefighters were engaged, supported by 1 Armed Forces helicopter. Active fires are also reported in Ballenjë and Qafë e Helmës in Dibër, as well as on Mount Luzat in Tepelena, while a number of other fires in Lezha, Elbasan and Vlora have been extinguished.
The National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) continues to continuously monitor the situation throughout the country, in close coordination with prefectures, municipalities and all structures of the Civil Protection system. Operational capacities remain engaged in the field and ready to intervene where the situation requires, with priority given to the protection of citizens' lives, homes and property," the Ministry announced./LAPSI.al
