An unfortunately common dynamic among opposing fan bases is that of arranging a meeting to openly fight during matches. And so it has been with some of the most ardent fans of Millwall and West Ham, ready to confirm that this London derby is one of the most dangerous in the world of football. This time, however, the Hammers fans decided to play a "joke" on their opponents: after being given the coordinates of the place for the violent confrontation, not only did they not show up, but instead they sent the police to a London that was literally armored. A story that dates back to the 19th century.
The trap for Millwall fans
Several mocking videos have appeared on social media, which West Ham fans wasted no time in sharing. This time it all started on social media with the usual notorious provocation from one side to the other, accompanied by the promise of a meeting on the eve of the match. Of course, the invitation was accepted and here a group of “friendly” fans showed up near a pub known as a meeting place for opposing ultras. The objective was to confront each other in the street with forbidden kicks, but instead of a fight, something else happened: the police, who had received a tip-off, stopped the Millwall ultras. They were first neutralized, then searched and transported to the police station. A real trap and successfully executed. According to reports, about ten fans were stopped after they had arrived in the area in question to appear “roaring” at the match. For them, there is now no stadium.

Why the derby between Millwall and West Ham is one of the most dangerous in the world
This episode is part of the very tense climate that prevails in London these days for the derby between the two Championship teams. A special organization has been established by the forces of order for what is considered one of the most dangerous confrontations in England and in the world. It is no coincidence that this confrontation between two teams from the same city has had a series of brutal episodes and even bloodshed over the years. The “Dockers Derby” between fans of Millwall and West Ham has always embodied the hooligan spirit, which arises from a genuine social conflict.
Past protests over working conditions, history of hostility between two fan groups
These are two fan clubs that were formed together with their respective teams at the end of the 19th century and were made up of groups of workers from the London docks, i.e. warehouses and loading and unloading areas near the ports. The first clashes, before they were football-related, arose from the fact that they had to fight for the same type of contracts, with the risk of losing their jobs. Then the parties identified with the two teams and the rivalry, which unfortunately turned into hatred, turned into clashes in the stands. The situation escalated in 1926, when many West Ham fans decided to go on strike to protest their working conditions, while those of Millwall continued to work. And then things got worse and worse.
