The appeal of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has rejected Igli Tare's request to lift the seizure measure against a villa in Palasa.
The trial panel has upheld the seizure of the assets, which has become part of the Albanian authorities' investigations into the former footballer.
Tare is suspected of being involved in a scheme related to the concealment of assets, while the villa in Palasa has been seized as part of money laundering investigations.
The issue has also been linked in public reports to former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, for whom allegations have been made that the property may have been used to help her avoid exposure.
