The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at the Presidency meeting taking place at the blue headquarters, spoke about the opposition's political action in the coming days.
Berisha said that boycotting parliament would be the easiest decision to make, but added that this would be an advantage for Prime Minister Edi Rama. He said that on the contrary, the opposition should give Rama the strongest answers in the Assembly.
"The easiest decision would be to boycott the parliament. I have been and am convinced that this would be an advantage for Edi Rama. Today, more stigmatized than ever, each of us must be clear that he is fighting for his existence. There is no other place for him than in a cell. He is capable of anything to preserve his power and career. However, despite this situation in parliament, the DP group will manage to give him the answers he deserves. We in parliament are in very difficult conditions, but in these conditions we must give him the strongest answers," said Berisha.
Among other things, he said that this meeting should serve as an appeal for each member of the Presidency and Secretariats to be as close to the citizens as possible. He expressed that each member of the DP should support the protest that has been taking place for more than three months against the government.
"This meeting is a call for each of us. Let's go to the citizens, to our members, to our supporters. Nothing reduces our strength more than the distance with our people. This is needed today more than ever, due to the conditions we find ourselves in. It is vital for us to give every contribution and make every effort for a functional and renewed Democratic Party. To face this regime with the greatest resistance. To make every effort to support this epic protest. Edi Rama has no future. He wants us to give him the push he deserves. He wants the opposition to rise up more and more strongly against him. As the DP, in a way, I tell you that this is a beginning in completely different conditions, from the most favorable but also in the greatest difficulties. Therefore, we must use every opportunity and every potential for the renewal of this political force," said Berisha.
