The Democratic Party of Kosovo has expressed its willingness to find an agreement with Vetevendosje on the election of a new president and unblocking the political situation.
After a nearly three-hour meeting with Albin Kurti, PDK leader Bedri Hamza declared that his party is ready to vote for the president in the next session, if an agreement is reached between the parties.
"The Democratic Party of Kosovo is ready to talk, on the same day, in the next session, to find a solution for the president and give him the votes," said Hamza. However, he stressed that the PDK's main demand remains the final approval of the amendments to the law on Specialized Chambers.
The Kurti-Hamza meeting took place after the Kosovo government assessed that there are no legal obstacles to the PDK initiative to amend the law on the Specialized Chambers and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office. The deadline for electing the president is October 6.
