Suspected of molesting underage girls near a school, 'house arrest'

The Fier Court has imposed the security measure "house arrest" on singer Erind Xhaferaj, suspected of harassing underage girls near a school in the city.

The prosecution had requested that the arrest in flagrante delicto be deemed lawful and that Xhaferaj be placed under house arrest. The court granted both requests.

According to the decision, Xhaferaj will remain under house arrest while the investigation continues. The judge argued that the circumstances could justify a more severe measure, that of “prison arrest”. However, the court could not impose a more severe measure than that requested by the Prosecution, based on Article 224, point 3 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
