This week, UEFA will distribute around €31.5 million to clubs that have made their players available for the 2024/25 Nations League; this is the first payment foreseen under the current cycle of the UEFA Club Benefits Programme, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between UEFA and the EFC. These payments - it is stated in a statement - are part of the overall fund of €104 million intended for clubs that release players for the 2024/25 and 2026/27 editions of the Nations League and for the Euro 2028 qualifiers.
How are the revenues distributed?
The distribution mechanism of the program remains unchanged compared to the previous edition. The program provides for compensation calculated on a player/match basis, with an amount of 3,845 euros for each appearance of a player eligible in the protocol in a Nations League or European qualifier match. For Euro 2028, the compensation will be calculated on a player/day basis. The program includes 611 clubs belonging to all UEFA member associations, including many amateur clubs. The German club Leipzig will receive the highest total amount in this payment installment, around 353,000 euros, due to the fact that it has made 16 of its players available. At this point in Albania, Dinamo, Tirana and Egnatia, which also have players in the European National Teams, are rubbing their hands.

Through this programme, we distribute to clubs across Europe - both professional and amateur - a share of UEFA Euro and UEFA Nations League revenues, recognising their role in developing players and making them available to national teams. 244 million euros to be distributed
The current cycle of club benefits linked to Euro 2028 foresees a total distribution of €244 million, including €4 million remaining from the Euro 2024 programme. Of this amount, €104 million is dedicated to clubs that make their players available for the Nations League (seasons 2024/25 and 2026/27) and the Euro 2028 qualifiers (European Qualifiers 2027-28), while a further €140 million is reserved for clubs that release players for the final phase of the tournament. Other payments under the programme will be made in phases as the relevant competitions conclude.
