
The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), after launching the investigations, has begun questioning persons suspected of having ordered or decided that judges' salaries should not be paid. According to the data, the questioning began with the head of the Treasury. After her, the investigators are expected to continue with other officials of the Ministry of Finance, to shed light on the decision-making and procedures followed for the non-payment of salaries.
So far, the investigation file has included the decision of the Constitutional Court, the decisions of the KLP and the KLGJ, the letters of the General Prosecutor's Office on the payroll, the payroll canceled by the Ministry of Finance, as well as the electronic traces of the Treasury system. The investigation is related to the criminal report filed by the judges for the non-execution of salaries. The report requests that the prosecution body clarify the circumstances that led to the non-payment of salaries and identify the person or persons responsible for its decision-making, monitoring or implementation. Among the reported persons is also the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj.
