Ronaldinho has sought to buy Monaco's basketball team

French newspaper "L'Equipe" writes that world football legend Ronaldinho has submitted an official proposal to buy the Monaco basketball club.

With the support of investment fund Clayton Sports, on Monday evening, Ronaldinho sent a letter to Monaco's chief executive, Oleksiy Yefimov, to buy the club.

The Brazilian legend seems willing to pay off Monaco's debts (2.5 million euros), as well as anything else needed, for the team to play normally in the new season's French championship.

It was Monaco's huge financial problems that got the team into trouble.

With a consistently good presence in the EuroLeague, one of the best teams in recent years will play in the EuroCup, but they have not yet received permission to participate in the professional leagues in France.

The Monegasques were trying to complete the process of changing ownership and transferring the team to the hands of former NBA player Jamal Masburn, but it seems that things may take a different turn. ©LAPSI.al
