The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bedri Hamza, has stated that new political developments after September 16 have created a new situation, on the basis of which, according to him, the party will adapt its positions on the issue of electing the President.
After the PDK Steering Council meeting, Hamza was asked whether the party's stance on the President would change, considering the situation created after September 16.
"We are in new circumstances. We are in new circumstances, we are in a new state, a state that is not only about the past, it is not about individuals, it is about the state and it is about the future of the state. And based on these new circumstances, we normally change and adapt our positions on issues that are related to the future and the stability of the state," said Hamza, reports "EO".
Asked if PDK would support a candidate for President from the Vetëvendosje Movement, Hamza said he does not want to talk about hypothetical scenarios without a concrete proposal being presented.
He stressed that he is ready to hold meetings with the leaders of political parties, noting that he has already met with the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, the leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, and the leader of the AAK, Ardian Gjini.
"I cannot talk about hypotheticals, before this topic comes up. I have met and am ready to meet, I have met with the leaders of three political parties, with Mr. Kurti, with Mr. Abdixhiku, with Mr. Gjini, I am in communication and it is quite normal that for such important, challenging and important topics for the country there should be meetings," said Hamza.
