"Rama in a hotel for 15 thousand euros a night", former SP MP: Spends

MP Marjana Koçeku has reacted after a video shared on social media by Albanians in New York, who filmed Prime Minister Edi Rama and his delegation outside the hotel where they are staying.

Koçeku claims that the hotel where Rama is staying, in the Tribeca area of New York, has rooms that cost around $15,000 a night. She links this amount to the pensions of Albanian citizens, raising questions about who is footing the bill for the accommodation.

The MP states that, if this amount is correct, it would be equivalent to about 60 months of pension for an Albanian pensioner.

"For 511 thousand Albanian pensioners, this means about 60 months of pension. And I don't believe he got the smallest room," she declares.

Koçek says that the main debate should not only be about the price of the room, but about who covers this expense.

"This bill means three things: either the state, meaning you, pays this bill, or it pays it itself. And a photo of the bill solves the conversation. Why is someone else paying the bill? The question is no longer how much, but who?", concludes the MP.

Marjana Koçeku: According to a video shared by Albanians in New York, the prime minister is staying at a hotel in Tribeca. The smallest room is 22 square meters and is said to cost around $15,000 a night.

For 511 thousand Albanian pensioners, this means about 60 months of pension. And I don't believe he got the smallest room.

This bill means three things, either the state, that is, you, paid this bill, or it paid it itself, and a photo of the bill solves the conversation, why someone else paid the bill. The question is no longer how much, but who?

Blendi Kajsiu: Prime Minister's misunderstanding on anti-corruption

The fact that no institution of our public administration noticed that millions of euros were invested in phantom incinerators, that AKSHI was controlled by an ordinary criminal, that the directors of the Municipality of Tirana awarded tenders to themselves, or that the police director and the director of SHISH worked for Gysi, shows that we do not have a public administration and a state.
