
Two people have been arrested in Tirana, suspected of smuggling gambling machines from neighboring countries, modifying them with illegal programs, and then selling them to people involved in the illegal organization of betting.
The activity was uncovered after a five-month investigation, during which police seized 25 cars, four cell phones, two laptops and a computer unit.

Tirana/The operation codenamed "Interception" is being finalized as a result of a 5-month investigation, using proactive methods.
It is discovered that in a warehouse on Kodra e Prifti, smuggled machines were modified with illegal programs, which were sold to gambling organizers.
The organizer of this activity in the rented premises, as well as his accomplice, were arrested.
25 slot machines, 4 cell phones, 2 laptops and 1 computer unit were seized.
Specialists of the Cyber Fraud Investigation Section, in cooperation with specialists of the Special Operational Force Sector, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, within the framework of the operation codenamed "Interception", arrested citizens AS, 53 years old, and SK, 67 years old.
As a result of an in-depth investigative work, the application of special investigation methods, as well as the monitoring and interception of electronic waves, it was found that citizen AS had rented a warehouse in the area called "Kodra e Priftit", where, in collaboration with citizen SK, he is suspected of smuggling machines from neighboring countries, which, through stolen electronic programs and electromagnetic interference, were programmed according to the requests of interested citizens/subjects, involved in the illegal organization of gambling.
The investigation continues to identify and bring to criminal responsibility other citizens who may have been involved in this criminal case.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
