
A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Fier, after allegedly repeatedly threatening a 73-year-old man for about two years, with the aim of extorting a sum of money from him. According to the police, the arrested man claimed that the money was owed to him by the old man's son. The 41-year-old, Ilir Sherifaj, has a criminal record for crimes against the person.

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Crimes against Property at the Fier Police Department, after an investigation conducted using special methods, following a report from a 73-year-old man, who was threatened for giving a sum of money, have identified and arrested the suspected perpetrator of the case, the citizen:
* I. Sh., 41 years old, resident of Vlora.
Investigations suspect that this citizen, with a criminal record in the field of crimes against the person, has been continuously threatening a 73-year-old man since 2024, in order for the latter to give him a sum of money, which he claimed his son owed him.
The procedural materials were referred to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Coercion by threat or violence for the provision of property".
