
Three drivers have been prosecuted in Durrës and Kavajë, after allegedly attempting to bribe Traffic Police officers to avoid fines for violating traffic rules.
According to the police, two cases were found in Durrës and one in Kavajë, while the three drivers, who had irregular documentation, were prosecuted at large for active corruption of persons exercising public functions.

Criminal proceedings are being filed against 3 drivers who offered themselves to Traffic Police officers to avoid administrative punishment.
The Traffic Police Services in Durrës and Kavajë, as part of intensive monitoring to identify and punish violators of the Traffic Code, have stopped several drivers who were found to be committing violations.
In 2 cases in Durrës and 1 case in Kavaja, 3 drivers of vehicles with irregular documentation attempted to bribe Traffic Police officers to avoid administrative measures for this violation.
For these cases, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated against the drivers of the vehicles, citizens KM, 47 years old, EA, 30 years old, both residents of Durrës, and AK, 35 years old, resident of Peqin, for the criminal offenses of "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions".
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
The Durrës Traffic Police appeals to all road users to strictly enforce traffic rules and invites citizens to report any violations to 112, guaranteeing complete anonymity and immediate response from the Police services.
