An incident has interrupted Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar's speech during an election campaign event in the city of Szolnok, where a man from the crowd attempted to throw an egg at him.
The incident occurred on September 26, while Magyar was giving a speech as part of his tour of Hungary. The egg was thrown from the crowd towards the stage, but it missed the prime minister and ended up among the people present.
After the incident, the perpetrator was stopped by plainclothes officers. The suspect resisted for a moment before lying on the ground. When reporters asked him why he had tried to hit Magyar, the man replied: "I'm sorry I didn't hit him in the head."

The police later questioned and released the 51-year-old, treating the case as a breach of order and disturbance of public peace. This is not the first incident against Magyar during his political tour. Just a week ago, during the Harvest Festival in Szekszárd, a man threw wine at the politician while he was standing near a stand.
Magyar called on his supporters not to escalate the situation. In his speech in Szolnok, he said that people should not confront each other as opponents, regardless of political differences.
The incident occurred at a tense period in Hungarian politics, as Magyar and his government face intense debates over economic, energy policies and relations with Ukraine.
In Szolnok, Magyar also declared that under his government an electrolyte plant will not be built in the city, while the event was also accompanied by small protests from opponents of the battery industry. ©LAPSI.al
